Japanese Tea
There are many types of Japanese tea, and many people won’t drink any other type. Since no two areas produce the same flavor of tea, the different teas from Japan all boast their own flavor and aroma. Also, different areas harvest the leaves at different times in order to get the perfect flavor that they are striving for.
The flavors of Japanese teas range from very light and grassy, to sweet and aromatic, to dark and strong. Darker teas and green teas are the two most commonly drank in Japan. Some of their teas are very exclusive due to the small amounts they are grown in. Uji is a tea named after the one area in Kyoto that it is grown in.
One kind of Japanese tea that is very popular right now is Matcha. This is a powdered form of tea that is a vivid green in color. This can be used in lattes, desserts, and other edible forms. The best thing about this form of tea is that you get all the nutritional value of the leaves, which you only get part of in tea.
